Judge Mike Toole Still Judge Mike Toole

In May, 1897, it was reported that legendary writer Mark Twain had died. Twain responded in a letter in which he wrote "the report of my death was an exaggeration." Well apparently the report of the resignation of Judge Michael Toole from the Luzerne County bench was also "an exaggeration."

OVC has it from a source close to the Judge that he has not resigned.

Toole, the son of senior Judge Patrick Toole, was elected to the bench to succeed his father in 2003. It was reported in late March by The Legal Intelligencer that federal investigators were looking into Judge Michael Toole with regard to uninsured/underinsured motorist arbitrations.

OVC will keep you up to date.

Yeah, but for how long?

I want to know why it has been 6 or 7 months since initial "rumors" of Michael Toole's involvement in the corruption investigation has first surfaced and there has been nothing of substance since. The least the public is owed is either a yes or no that he is being investigated. How many cases will he hear between march 2009 and the time he is finally indicted? And will ALL of those come under re-evaluation and scrutiny like all of Conahan's and Ciaverella's cases have? How much more money is Luzerne County going to be subject to losing in lawsuits involving corrupt judges?
